Industrial Pipe Welders - Night Shift

United Group Services (UGS) is currently seeking industrial Pipe Welders to perform work at our client site in Apple Grove, West Virginia.

Job Duties

• Perform various types of welding and soldering on pipes and fittings according to blueprints and schematics, including TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), and flux-core arc welding (FCAW).
• Execute flawless, x-ray quality welds in restrictive and demanding field positions, such as the 6G angle position.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, calipers, and tube bending tools for fabrication and assembly.
• Conduct rigging and lifting operations safely to position pipes and components during installation.
• Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues related to pipe fitting, plumbing, HVAC systems, and pipeline assembly.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with maintenance tasks related to piping systems as needed.

• At least 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of welding and pipefitting techniques, tools, and materials.
• Welders must certify with UGS by taking our Weld test.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency using precision tools such as calipers for accurate measurements.
• Familiarity with relevant industrial codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions safely and accurately.
